I think its fitting I have this album here as I have just plastered the cover all over my website, as a background for most of my pages. I think since I've done so it's pretty self-explanatory how I feel about this album. My personal stand out tracks are Tesla Girls, Locomotion, (which I had the pleasure of hearing both live on the 26.06.2026) Hard day and finally White Trash. It was tempting to link every song because it really is just that good! It's been one of my fave OMD releases... though I'd love to reveal the others I can't just yet... gotta save them for another album review! Partly why Junk Culture is so great to me is because the musical sound is so brain scratchingly good. Also McCluskey's vocals on this album are sooo good. I also have personal meanings attached to these songs that simply make them all the better (or worse if you look at for example Hard Day or White Trash) but that personal element really adds to it. 10/10 could not live without this album... it's just not possible...

Where do I even begin with such a great album? It's best in every way... one of the best listens I've had in a long while. Some stand out tracks for me are The Highest High , The Bigger Punch I'm Feeling and The World Spins, I'm Part Of It. If I'm honest this album has been on loop for the past two days straight, I can't seem to bring myself to listen to anything else! King In A Catholic style (Wake Up) is 100% another stand out track... although I've already known this song for quite some time now (and have been looping it an ungodly amount) so it doesn't really count as something new. Gary's vocals are very enjoyable, his style is very easy to listen to for me. I also really like the album cover, it's visually very pleasing to the eye, the shade of blue especially caught my eye. Over all this is all the way a 10/10 no skip album for me, love it to death and probs would have never known about it if it wasn't for my boss bf. WOOHOO!
